Sunset Hill Farm

After last year we are excited to see the garden growing and we have just put our first batches of corn in the freezer (after eating all we can, of course). Potatoes and green beans are coming along and tomatoes are vining out nicely and providing enough for eating so far. Canning will come in a week or two...about the time green beans are ready! Our cherry tree was back to its load of cherries, as well, and we have frozen cherries and have cherry jelly ready for eating.

We are sooooo excited to see our fruit trees finally producing--seven years after planting them! We got some scrumptious peaches and there are loads of apples on our small trees. The late freeze got the apricots, but maybe next year... There are also friends and familiy who are sharing their bounty. We now have lots of plum jam in jars from Uncle Dan and Aunt Pam's tree and Skeeter and Papa's apple trees are loaded to the breaking point, so we'll be able to help them out, by putting lots of applesauce up.
